Espaol Catala
Extra Melon and Watermelon Jam

Both belong to the same family (Curcubitaceae), but they are quite different. Melon is the fruit of the (Cucumis melo), and watermelon comes from the (Citrullius lanatus) tree, both originated in Africa. The melon was already cultivated in Egypt during the third millennium B.C., and watermelon can be traced back to the desert of Kalahari, also cultivated in the Nile area around 5,000 years ago.

We wash the fruit very carefully, since they come from the land. We then peel and cut them into dices, they are mixed in the right proportion, added sugar and cooked on a low flame for many hours.

This jam is very bright and tasty, since it is cooked for a long time. Ideal for breakfast, to season fresh, soft cheese, ice-cream and all kinds of desserts.

Sizes: glass jars of 350 gr. and 1 Kg

“To make 100 grams of this jam we used between 140 and 146 grams of Melon and Watermelon”
